Where There Is Stillness, There is God

“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth” (Psalm 46:10).

Immersing ourselves in the presence of God allows us to acknowledge His sovereignty over our lives and find peace, even in the seemingly chaotic world around us. We find Him in the little things—the scent of chamomile tea on a cold day, the sight of young mothers pushing strollers in the park as we sit on a bench, listening to birds chirping. His creation captivates our senses as the sky at dusk turns from blue to pink, then to orange, and finally to black. What a blessed life we lead to be able to witness such extraordinary, yet ordinarily simple things.

Psalm 46:10 helps us to appreciate stillness, bringing us into a closer relationship with God. At the center of our being, this relationship empowers and energizes our spirits through life’s simple pleasures. There is tranquility and safety in the nearness of God.
