Woke Culture: The REAL “Climate Emergency”

“The saints stand passionately patient, keeping God’s commands, staying faithful to Jesus” (Revelation 14:12).

In 1976, U.S. scientist, Wallace Broecker, coined the term “global warming.” Since then, many other terms have been used to describe what some call a “climate emergency,” including “climate change,” “environmental destruction,” “climate crisis,” and “environmental collapse.”

These same terms could also be used to describe the current spiritual and political climate. Evil is creeping into every faction of our society, creating a different type of “climate emergency.” The indoctrination of children in our schools, through teaching false and harmful ideologies, is a prime example. We are seeing the sexualization of our youth through exposure to “family-friendly” drag queen performances and the promotion of “gender-affirming care.” Abortion, fatherless single-parent households, and the acceptance of marriage outside of God’s design are tearing down the family unit. The “woke” news media, Big Tech, and our government push a radical agenda and crush dissenting voices. We are witnessing “environmental destruction.”

In the spiritual and political context, believers are called to be “environmentalists.” We can be warriors who fight for a spiritually healthy living environment for our families. We can promote the Trinity—the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—as the REAL “clean energy.” God’s blueprint for humanity offers what the world cannot: clean living that energizes us and gives us hope for the future.

Jesus offers himself as the refreshing source of new life to whoever accepts Him. He says in John 4:14, “those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.”

Jesus went on to speak in John 7:38 about the Holy Spirit representing living water: “Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’” The Holy Spirit resides in the hearts of believers and seals them for salvation. According to Ephesians 1:13-14, “You were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.”

God is the only one who can heal our land. “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land (2 Chronicles 7:14). God was speaking to Solomon about the Jewish people in Israel repenting and turning from their crimes against Him. God will hears our prayers for our country and its leadership as we humble ourselves, pray, repent, and seek Him.

Call to Action: We must continue to pray and seek His face during this “climate crisis.” Our God is more powerful than anything that stands against us!

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened” (Matthew 7:7-8).

“The Lord is near to all who call upon him, to all who call upon him in truth” (Psalm 145:18).

“Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).

Prayer: Father God, we honor You today as our Deliverer, Healer, and Friend. We praise your name for all You’ve done for us. We come before Your throne to ask You to lead and guide us to wisdom. Help us gain momentum in creating spiritual “climate change” in this country and around the world. We were once a nation of conviction and godly principles. We hunger to return to those standards and to live in a world that values life, liberty, and moral living. Please continue to stoke the fires of revival, to spread them worldwide. We need MORE of You, Lord! In the precious name of Jesus, we pray, Amen!

Final Thought: The cultural climate is ripe for the revival we are currently seeing all around us! God is on the move! He can deliver us!
