A five-point breakdown of President Joe Biden’s potential impeachment was shared by the Christian Post, on Friday. It detailed how the Wednesday vote in the lower chamber approved House Resolution 918 formalized the impeachment inquiry, and what will happen next.

Biden’s family business dealings.

“President Biden was personally involved in his family’s foreign business dealings, and those business arrangements intersected with his official duties” as Vice President, a September investigation by the Committees on the Judiciary, Ways and Means, and Oversight and Accountability into the family found. “The President has not been truthful about his family’s foreign business entanglements,” it noted.

“The Chairs also stated that they had uncovered substantial information, including through whistleblowers, indicating that the Biden Administration has obstructed the criminal investigation into Hunter Biden,” the report continued. “This information includes evidence that Department of Justice personnel blocked avenues of inquiry that could have led to evidence incriminating President Biden and impeded efforts to prosecute Hunter Biden for tax crimes relating to foreign business arrangements that could have implicated President Biden.”

The inquiry is already well underway

Even though the House only technically voted Wednesday to officially launch the investigation, the original investigation in September is part of that ongoing process. From here on out, Congress will be able ”

to initiate or intervene in judicial proceedings to enforce certain subpoenas” as a result of the formalization of the impeachment inquiry.”

Biden thinks this is a “stunt”

According to the Christian Post, Biden called the impeachment a “stunt.” He said he “wake up every day focused on the issues facing the American people — real issues that impact their lives and the strength and security of our country and the world.” House Republicans aren’t pro-Biden’s agenda, the president claimed.

“Instead of doing anything to help make Americans’ lives better, they are focused on attacking me with lies. Instead of doing their job on the urgent work that needs to be done, they are choosing to waste time on this baseless political stunt that even Republicans in Congress admit is not supported by facts,” Biden said of Republicans.

The inquiry is not a formal impeachment

This is simply an investigation into whether a formal impeachment can take place. It’s unlikely any such action would force Biden out of office, as prior impeachments of President Andrew Johnson, Bill Clinton, and Donald Trump did not result in their removal. (LEARN MORE: Biden Sued Over Conservative Censorship)

Trump’s Involvement

Back in 2019, Trump made a phone call to Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy about Biden, asking him to look into claims Biden “went around bragging that he stopped the prosecution” of his son, Hunter Biden.

The younger Biden served on the board of Ukrainian energy company, Burisma, which was under investigation by Ukraine’s prosecutor general in 2015 for corruption. Biden apparently said then-Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko needed to be “fired” in order for Ukraine to receive a $1 billion loan guarantee.
