Apologetics Author Asks Simple Question Of Young People & Faith; The Response Is Overwhelming

Apologetics author Dr. Frank Turek asked a simple question in June: “Why do you think Christianity is becoming more popular among young people?”
The responses Turek received were incredible, insightful, and we thought we’d share some of them with you today. “While our generation grew up in a time of great sin, the wages had not been paid and the younger generations see the bill is due and only Christ can pay it,” wrote someone who goes by the name Andy Buksterlin.
“Because it’s true. In a new technological age such as this one, it’s seemingly impossible to tell fact from fiction. We have all the information at our fingertips, but don’t know what or who to trust. But, just like our forefathers understood, so do we. It’s in God we trust,” said user Ryan Hurst. One of the longest replies came from an anonymous user, which we edited for grammatical purposes, but nothing else. “Young people today are starving for purpose, not attention, not pleasure, not even success, purpose. and the world offers everything except that. Every screen, hookup, and achievement leaves them more empty. They’re waking up, but many are being led right into deception,” they wrote. “It starts with the men. We were made to lead, to protect, to build for something bigger than ourselves. and when a man realizes he’s been chasing shadows, he starts searching for the light. but too many are landing in churches that preach comfort over conviction. emotion over repentance. Prosperity over purpose.”
“And that’s why I don’t just want people to ‘go to church.’ I want them to walk the narrow path. The real one. The one that requires you to die to self. The one where you feel the weight of your sin and the grace of God all at once. You should feel convicted every Sunday, not coddled,” they continued. “This is why we need to stop calling it ‘Christianity’ and return to what it was followers of the Way. It hits different. It separates us from the labels, the lukewarm, and the lies. It’s not about religion. it’s about obedience, repentance, daily surrender.”
“Young people don’t just need hype and hope. they need truth, the kind that pierces; the kind that saves, and Jesus Christ is the only One who gives it.”
Catholicism
Many users were quick to point out that lots of young people are turning to Catholicism specifically. “Because tradition and the one true church cannot be destroyed, as Jesus promised,” noted Braedon Sorbo.
Young people have been lied to by teachers, politicians, and sometimes their own parents. They’re sick of the lies, and looking for Truth. They’re finding it in the Catholic Church.

Similar comments can be found throughout the replies to Turek’s post, following a trend we reported on earlier this year. An article published by the New York Post in mid-April detailed how young people, particularly Millennials, are converting to Catholicism as our Great American Revival continues to pick up speed. “There’s just something so beautiful and transcendent about the rituals and the ancient history in the Catholic Mass that’s been preserved,” a woman named Sydney Johnston, 30, told the outlet. “The church really communicates a degree of reverence that I didn’t find in the more liberal, laissez-faire approach of nondenominational churches.”
