Border Agents Warned Not To Misgender

Department of Homeland Security Chief Alejandro Mayorkas warned border patrol agents not to presume the gender identity of illegal immigrants, and should ask for their correct pronouns, Breitbart reported in November.
An order from Mayorkas tells patrol agents and guards to ignore the blatant biological aesthetic of those crossing into the country illegally. Instead, guards are supposed to ask what the individual’s preferred pronouns are. This may allow individuals to sneak into the U.S. using false identities related to “transgender” pronouns, the outlet noted. “We just obtained [Customs and Border Patrol agency] documents directing personnel to only use woke language when encountering individuals invading the United States,” the Heritage Foundation said on X.
The Instructions:
If a longer dialogue [with a migrant] is occurring, it may be appropriate to ask the individual their preferred pronoun. For example, state “I would like to be respectful — what name and pronoun would you like me to use when addressing you”? Avoid asking ‘What is your sex?” unless operationally necessary.
DO NOT:
Use “he, him, she, her” pronouns until you have more information about, or provided by, the individual.
