Boy Scouts Switch To Gender-Inclusive Name

May 10, 2024

The Boy Scouts of America announced Tuesday that it will officially be changing its name to the gender-inclusive “Scouting America.”

The rebrand is said to reflect “the organization’s ongoing commitment to welcome every youth and family in America to experience the benefits of Scouting. The change will go into effect on February 8, 2025, the organization’s 115th anniversary,” according to a press release from the organization.

“Though our name will be new, our mission remains unchanged: we are committed to teaching young people to be Prepared. For Life,” Scouting American president and CEO Roger A. Krone said in the release. “This will be a simple but very important evolution as we seek to ensure that everyone feels welcome in Scouting.” (LEARN MORE: Female Mass Shooters & The Rise In Transgenderism)

A Scout Is No Fool

More than 130 million Americans have been through a Scouting program since it first launched in 1910. The purpose of the program is to “provide young people with a safe environment where they can learn meaningful life skills and have fun, educational experiences, fostering their growth and future outcomes as leaders, and be prepared for life. At the same time, values instilled by the Scout Oath and Law help prepare young people for lives of purpose and impact.” (LEARN MORE: World Expert Says Transgenderism Is ‘Mental Disorder,’ Sex Changes Are ‘Biologically Impossible,’ And The Industry Will Collapse Like Eugenics Did)

Trying To Save The Organization?

The Boy Scouts has been hit hard with accusations of abuse, leading to a substantial scandal and ongoing legal issues, according to the Christian Post. In 2023, the organization started processing claims as part of a $2.4 billion bankruptcy plan. If the name update was part of a plan to expand the organization, it may have backfired, judging by comments online.

“Another institution that was great for boys to learn how to become men, has been destroyed by wokeness. What’s next, they going to wear little girl brownie uniforms,” said one social media user, according to Newsweek. “What exclusion has there been? There’s ‘The Boy Scouts’ and ‘The Girl Scouts’… Am I missing something?” said another.

Blaze commentator Logan Hall said, “conservatives love to talk about transgenderism infiltrating female spaces but you hardly ever hear them push back on the decades-long effort to feminize traditional male spaces.”

Protecting Children’s Spaces

While Scouting might not exactly be a sport, it does teach young Americans new skills in the outdoors. Protecting girls and boys from separate spaces is key to a healthy upbringing, and it has worked since the dawn of time. What do you think about this new trend in scouting? Tell us today — and we’ll help you lobby your local, state, and federally elected officials into protecting girl’s spaces and sports.
