Connecting to God Through Worship

“Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!” (Psalm 150:6).

God gave us the inherent desire for worship, expressed in various forms—reading scripture, praise, creative gifts of art and music, and prayer, to name a few. We were created to worship Him and Him alone. Jesus said in Luke 4:8, “It is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve Him only.’” As the One who formed us in our mother’s womb, He is worthy to be glorified high above everything else. “Come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the Lord our maker” (Psalm 95:6).

Honoring and praising God invites Him into our space. Wherever we humbly pursue the heart of God, we will find Him. Whether in a church building, a car, at home, or somewhere else, God hears us and is there!

Fellowship with God through His gift of worship can lead us to a deeper spiritual connection. When the Holy Spirit moves within us, there is a change in the atmosphere, and our souls feel drawn to the fullness of God’s glory. We are renewed and transformed by His presence if we seek Him with a clean heart, made holy through the forgiveness of Jesus.

Worshipping God is not only something we are called to do; it is a privilege for believers to honor our Heavenly Father in this way. His perfect, enduring love extended us life everlasting through His Son, Christ Jesus. He deserves all our glory and praise!

Guiding Points:

Call to Action: Focus this week on creating a space and time for worship. That won’t look the same for everyone. It may only be a quiet car ride with worship music playing. As long you have reverence for Him in the stillness of the moment and let the words flow through you, God will meet you there. Pray for the Holy Spirit to move and fill you with His glory.

“Sing to the Lord, for he has done wonderful things. Make known his praise around the world” (Isaiah 12:5).

“Honor the Lord for the glory of his name. Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness” (Psalm 29:2).

“For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever. Amen” (Romans 11:36).

Prayer: Father God, we come before You today with praise and reverence for Your goodness to us. We thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus, to be the sacrificial lamb for our sins. Holy Spirit, fill the atmosphere with Your presence and glory as we worship You today! Move through us and help us to have a deep spiritual connection with You. Renew our hearts, bodies, and minds to help us focus on You and You alone. In Your name, we pray, Amen!

Final Thought: It is freeing to know that God connects with us through worship on such a personal level! He is a good, good Father!
