Fed Issue Scary Warning: Stop Protecting Border

The Biden Administration sent a letter to Texas Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton in January, telling him to stop trying to secure our open border with Mexico.

The letter reads like a “cease-and-desist” order, in an attempt to stop Texas’ Border Patrol from doing their job: protecting the border.

“Texas’s failure to provide access to the border persists even in instances of imminent danger to life and safety. On January 12, 2024, upon learning from Grupo Beta, a group affiliated with the National Institute of Migration of Mexico, that a group of migrants was attempting to cross the river, Border Patrol contacted Texas officials and requested access to the border. Texas refused. Later, a rescue team from Mexico was able to rescue two individuals from the group, both with signs of hypothermia. Three individuals drowned. Texas has demonstrated that even in the most exigent circumstances, it will not allow Border Patrol access to the border to conduct law enforcement and emergency response activities,” the letter claimed as if it was Border Patrol’s fault people were trying to access the country illegally and were not prepared for the elements.

“Operation Lone Star”

Texas Department of Public Safety installed a 2.5-mile stretch of concertina wire along the Rio Grande, which stopped migrants from reaching Texas, and stopped Border Patrol from escorting migrants into the state, the Washington Stand analyzed.

The concertina spread across Shelby Park, a city-owned property in Eagle Pass. It’s used as one of the main arteries for illegal immigrants into the U.S., and is flanked by two large bridges. “So, by definition, anyone attempting to swim through the river instead of crossing the bridges is going out of their way to enter the country illegally,” the outlet described. When the woman and her two sons got into the river, they were met with frigid temperatures, and a high current, and subsequently drowned. The tragic incident had nothing to do with concertina wire, the seizure of the land and park, or anyone on the U.S. side of the border, as far as the outlet is concerned.
