Haley Loses Nevada Primary Despite Being Only Candidate

The official winner of the 2024 Nevada primary was “None of These Candidates,” the Associated Press called on Tuesday.
Former President Donald Trump did not compete during Tuesday’s Nevada primary as there are no delegates needed to win the GOP nomination. Instead, Nikki Haley stood alone on the ballot, save for the “None of These Candidates” option, which ultimately won the nomination. Tuesday’s primary was “technically meaningless” to the Republican race. But the situation is still a huge “embarrassment for Haley,” the AP noted. The outlet brutally assessed Haley’s belief that she can beat Trump and become the presidential candidate, noting how she ended up becoming the first ever candidate to lose a race to the “None of These Candidates” option since it was introduced in 1975.

“Even Donald Trump knows that when you play penny slots the house wins,” Haley spokeswoman Olivia Perez-Cubas said, according to the AP. “We didn’t bother to play a game rigged for Trump. We’re full steam ahead in South Carolina and beyond.”
