Kamala Harris Doesn’t Like Pregnancy Resource Centers: OP-ED

A  commentary article published in August by the Washington Stand argued that Vice President Kamala Harris doesn’t like pregnancy resource centers.

Mary Szoch and Arielle Del Turco argued that throughout her political career, Harris has a proven track record of voting and politicking against pregnancy resource centers (PRCs). There are more than 2,750 centers that help women and their partners when they discover they are pregnant unexpectedly. Crisis Pregnancy Centers (CPCs) and PRCs are designed to support mothers and fathers, have an overall approval rating above 97.4%. (LEARN MORE: Things To Know About Kamala’s Wannabe VP Tim Walz)

The purpose of these centers is to save lives. “Everyone who walks through their door is met with an open heart, a listening ear, and a plethora of resources — clothing, diapers, wipes, formula; education about pregnancy, parenting, and life skills; and medical services like pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, and STD testing. Many PRCs also offer housing for mothers and their children, spiritual support, clothing, assistance for victims of abuse and human trafficking, and guidance in applying for Medicaid, SNAPS, and WIC,” the authors described.

Harris Votes Against CPCs, PRCs

In 2015, Harris was a sponsor of the Reproductive FACT Act, which she claimed would “ensure that all women have equal access to comprehensive reproductive health services, and that they have the facts they need to make informed decisions about their health and their lives.”

In reality, the law forced California’s PRCs to advertise the murder of unborn children. The centers sued over this law, as it flew in the face of their mission to save the unborn. (LEARN MORE: DMV Loophole Could Cause Millions Of Illegal Votes)

Harris instead called the work of these groups “predatory practices” and condemned those fighting to save the lives of the unborn. The authors described Harris as “the most pro-abortion candidate to run at the top of the Democratic ticket.”

“She could not even bring herself to vote for a law protecting babies born alive from being killed or left to die after an abortion. And Kamala Harris doesn’t stop at promoting the killing of unborn children — she actively works to silence anyone helping mothers and fathers in need choose life,” the authors stated.
