More Than 51,000 Decisions Made By Christian Athletes In 2023

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) announced in December that more than 51,000 decisions for Christ were made by youth organizations and gatherings throughout 2023, the Christian Post reported.

“The best gift we can give and receive at Christmas is the gift of Christ, who came to Earth to save us and offer us all the free gift of salvation,” FCA President and CEO Shane Williamson told the news outlet. “As we reflect on the birth of our Savior, we are reminded of what Jesus has done with FCA and are so thankful for the 51,730 student-athletes who came to know Him this year through the ministry.”

Global Impact

“FCA uses a Faith Response Tool, a texting system that allows FCA staff, coaches, and athletes to share these significant, life-changing decisions,” an FCA spokesperson told the outlet. “This system provides FCA with the opportunity to not only get an idea of their impact around the globe but also allows for an initial contact between the organization and each young follower of Christ.” (LEARN MORE: ‘Wonder Years’ Actress Found Christ)

This year marks a small decline from 2021-2022 when 52,358 decisions were recorded. But these fluctuations are “typical” year after year. Multiple faith-based events have changed the world throughout 2023, particularly here in the U.S. One example cited by FCA is the “Fields of Faith” event in Hot Springs, Arkansas, where more than 3,000 people showed up to celebrate Christ.
