Multiple States Fear Full Iran-Israel War

Apr 16, 2024

The Gulf states of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates are amongst several Gulf states and other nations pushing to stop the outbreak of all-out war following Iran’s recent and brutal attacks against Israel, Newsmax reported Sunday.

“Nobody wants an escalation. Everybody wants to contain the situation,” a source close to the various governments who control the Gulf told the outlet. “The pressure is not on Iran alone. The pressure is now on Israel not to retaliate.” Iran attacked Israel on Saturday night with more than 300 missiles and drones, with almost all of them reportedly being intercepted, Newsmax noted in another report.

“The Iranian threat met the aerial and technological superiority of the IDF, along with a strong fighting coalition — which together intercepted the overwhelming majority of the threats. … 99% of the threats launched towards Israeli territory were intercepted — a very significant strategic achievement,” Israeli Defense Force spokesperson Daniel Hagari said.

“Should the Israeli regime make another mistake, Iran’s response will be considerably more severe. It is a conflict between Iran and the rogue Israeli regime, from which the U.S. must stay away,” Iran has said, according to Newsmax. The state has also warned the U.S. against further involvement in the conflict. (LEARN MORE: Conservatives Warn Of Terror Vulnerability from U.S. Open Border)

Israeli government spokesman Avi Hyman told Newsmax that while calls for Israel to behave in a certain way are “appreciated,” the state will do what is necessary to protect its people. “Ultimately 82% of Americans support Israel’s just war for freedom,” Hyman continued. “But we will do what we have to do. We are a sovereign nation-state and it was our children, it was our babies that we were grabbing as we ran to the bomb shelters on Saturday night, and we will pay any consequences of any additional escalation from Iran.

“People forget, they think it’s a one-off attack. No, Iran is behind Hezbollah, Iran is behind Hamas, Iran is behind the Houthies and the other Shia militias that have been attacking us since Oct. 7,” he added. (LEARN MORE: Iran Tells Israel That None Of Its Embassies Are Safe)

“We will respond in the best possible way, with a cool head, with planning, if and when we decide to respond. That’s what I can tell you at the moment,” Hyman noted.
