NSF Places $1M Into Gender Study

The National Science Foundation (NSF) granted nearly $1 million in taxpayer dollars to three universities to study gender narratives.

The study called “Collaborative Research: A Qualitative Inquiry into Sex/gender narratives in Undergraduate Biology and their Impacts on Transgender, non-binary, and gender non-conforming Students,” will be undertaken by Colorado State University, Florida International University, and the University of Minnesota, according to the Washington Stand.

The purpose of the study is to understand how the “debated” topic of biological sex is taught in the classroom, and how it influences student’s sense of belonging and the overall climate of their environment. (LEARN MORE: Female Mass Shooters & The Rise In Transgenderism)

A Qualitative Approach

The study will focus on young people who consider themselves “transgender, non-binary, or gender-nonconforming” or “TNG” according to this study. It will also “include TNG students with diverse racial/ethnic and social identities along with biology instructors recruited from a variety of institutions.”

The study was initially funded in June 2022 and will continue through August 2025. NSF has already spent half a million on the study, according to the Washington Stand. However because the study is qualitative, it is likely the results will be heavily skewed. Any data collected in 2022 will technically be out of date by scientific standards by  2027, just two years after the study is completed. Shouldn’t we be concerned that the government is spending our money on data that won’t be worth anything once it’s gathered and analyzed?
