Activists calling themselves pro-Palestinian apparently tried to shut down Manhattan’s annual Christmas tree lighting, on Wednesday, at the Rockefeller Center.
The pro-Palestinian group attempted their activities in the name of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, the Hamas codename for the attacks on Gaza and Israeli civilians on October 7, according to the Washington Stand. 1,200 Israelis were killed and more than 5,000 wounded. It’s revolting that people in America think this was a good thing, and want to defend these actions through the attack of Christian and traditional holiday spirit. “The barricades and cops could not contain the crowd. People broke through and began marching through the streets while officers continued to make one arrest after another,” one CBS reporter noted. “Demonstrators were able to break through their barricades and at some points even surround and physically fight with police.”
Police Attacks, Arrests Made
Police arrested and charged at least seven people with blocking roadways, resisting arrest, and assaulting officers. Other criminal activity includes destruction of property and graffiti, and another individual — a minor — was arrested for undisclosed reasons, the outlet noted.
