Texas AG Sues Doctor Who Allegedly Tried To ‘Transition’ Kids
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton sued a North Texas doctor in October for allegedly “blatantly violating Texas law by providing prohibited” so-called “gender transition” medical interventions to nearly two dozen children.
In June 2024, the Texas Supreme Court upheld Senate Bill 14, which prohibits any type of surgery that mutilates a child’s hormonal and reproductive systems, often called “gender transition care.” Such interventions often include surgeries, puberty blockers, and cross-sex hormones for minors. Evidence obtained by Paxton’s office revealed that a Dallas-area doctor “illegally provided high-dose cross-sex hormones to twenty-one minor patients for the direct purpose of ‘transitioning’ the child’s biological sex,” AG Paxton’s office wrote in a statement. “The doctor allegedly used false diagnoses and billing codes to mask these unlawful prescriptions.”
The full filing, shared online, alleges the doctor “engaged in deceptive trade practices, including by misleading pharmacies, insurance providers, and/or patients by falsifying medical records, prescriptions, and billing records to represent that her testosterone prescriptions are for something other than transitioning a child’s biological sex or affirming a child’s belief that their gender identity is inconsistent with their biological sex.” (LEARN MORE: Most Gender-Confused Youth Grow Out Of It)
Texas Steps Up To Protect America’s Children
“Texas passed a law to protect children from these dangerous unscientific medical interventions that have irreversible and damaging effects,” Paxton said in the statement. “Doctors who continue to provide these harmful ‘gender transition’ drugs and treatments will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.”
