Former President Donald Trump won an overwhelming majority of the Florida primary vote on Tuesday, seeing the state’s Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis coming in third.

Trump took home every single one of Florida’s 125 delegates, despite DeSantis and Nikki Haley catching a few votes for their suspended campaigns in a surprise turn. Haley managed to snag 14% of the vote thanks in large part to early voting in March when she was still in the race. DeSantis came in behind Haley in his own state, with only 4% of the vote.

The overall turnout was significantly lower than expected, Politico noted. “This was a primary that only a few weeks ago had well-funded candidates and the sitting governor of our state sharing the ballot,” said Trump senior adviser Brian Hughes. “Nevertheless, President Trump demonstrated absolute dominance in the result. Trump Likely To Win Florida In November

Politico argued that it seems likely Trump will win Florida in November, so long as people turn up to vote. The state holds 30 electoral college votes and has leaned right throughout President Joe Biden’s term in office.

“The results of Florida’s Republican primary show Donald Trump backsliding by 14 percent, losing support from moderate Republicans who are rejecting his extremism in growing numbers,” Florida Democratic Party chair Nikki Fried said in a statement.
