Trump Wants Religious Revival In America

Sep 6, 2024

Former President Donald Trump said Tuesday that he believes America needs a religious revival.

Trump spoke at length with podcaster Lex Fridman on all sorts of topics, from UFOs to the Kennedy assassination. At one point, Fridman asked Trump about mortality. “One of the tragic things about life is that it ends,” Fridman said. “How often do you think about your death? Are you afraid of it?” The question comes just weeks after Trump was almost assassinated while speaking in Pennsylvania.  (LEARN MORE: Who Is J.D. Vance, Trump’s Vice Presidential Pick?)

While he conceded that some people obsess over death, it is an easier process to contemplate when you have faith. “If you’re religious, I think you have a better feeling about it. You’re supposed to go to Heaven ideally, not Hell, but you’re supposed to go to Heaven if you’re good,” Trump replied.

Revival

“Our country is missing a lot of religion,” Trump continued. “I think it really was a much better place with religion. It was almost a guide. You want to be good to people. Without religion, there’s no real guardrails. I’d love to see us get back to religion, more religion in this country.”

Trump’s relationship with Christ appears to have grown far more public since his almost-assassination. Even before this, the former Commander in Chief never shied away from his Christianity. He believes the Biden administration is weaponizing his justice system to attack Christians, with plenty of examples to choose from. “The chains are already tightening around all of us, if you think about it,” he said in February. “Ultimately, the radical Left is coming after all of us, because they know that our allegiance is not to them. Our allegiance is to our country, and our allegiance is to our Creator. They don’t want to hear that.”
