Political commentator Tucker Carlson told a group of Texas Republicans on Sunday that they need to keep America’s spiritual war in mind when it comes to the upcoming elections, the Christian Post reported.

Carlson was speaking at the sold-out Tarrant County Republican Party fundraising event in Fort Worth Stockyards when he told a story from his past. He described a man offering to pray over him for God’s guidance before he gave his speech, adding that it was an unusual experience for someone who lives in New England. But in Texas, prayer is commonplace.

“All of you are probably thinking, ‘Well, yeah, that’s what we do in Texas.’ That is not what they do in other states. But it is the thing that makes the state different, really different from any other place,” Carlson told the crowd. (LEARN MORE: ‘We Need Jesus’: Joe Rogan & Aaron Rodgers On Faith)

Lack of Worldly Terms

Carlson noted that there is a lack of worldly terms to describe the cultural and spiritual battles raging within the U.S. right now, suggesting that these battles have an otherworldly nature. “This is not flesh and blood at all. If you’re offended by prayer, you’re taking orders, OK? I don’t see another rational explanation for it,” he continued, noting that he personally divides political people by whether or not they believe in God.

He added that descendants have been seen since Biblical times as the truest and most lasting measure of prosperity within society. “What they’re promising you, every person in this room, is no descendants,” he said. “No descendants. It’s really that simple.” (LEARN MORE: What NFL Stars Have To Say About Their Faith)

“You can reduce all these debates about climate, crime, all the weird sex stuff — I’m not going to dignify it with a name, I’m just gonna call it that ‘weird sex stuff’ — but, if they’re promising you the opportunity to castrate your children, what are they really promising? No grandchildren. The end of your line,” he continued. “And Solomon [and] David would like instantly recognize that as an act of total war against you and your people, period. Because that’s what that is.”

Advice For Voters

Along with decrying Texas’s terrible open border crisis, Carlson told the crowd to “take your politicians by the scruff of the neck and say, ‘You’re not getting another dollar from me until every public remark you make is about the issue that actually matters,'” the outlet reported.
