The watchdog group Media Research Center (MRC) said Monday that Google has interfered with U.S. elections at least 41 times in the last 16 years, Newsmax reported.

The MRC report claims the fiddling started in 2008 when Google is said to have censored pro-Hillary Clinton content. “During the 2008 primary election, it was no secret that Google had allied itself with the younger, more radical candidate [Barack] Obama instead of the relatively more moderate and corporate Democrat candidate Clinton. This symbiotic relationship produced results quickly,” the report explained.

The most recent example apparently targets conservatives, with the Google Gemini artificial intelligence tool refusing to say anything negative about President Joe Biden. (LEARN MORE: Biden’s Competitors Censored By Google)

What Does MRC Recommend?

“Google’s outsized influence on information technology, the body politic, and American elections became evident in 2008. After failing to prevent then-candidate for president Donald Trump from being inaugurated following the 2016 election, Google has since made clear to any discerning observer that it has been — and will continue — interfering in America’s elections,” the report argued. Three main recommendations were made by the group:

  1. “House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., should direct relevant committees and committee chairmen to investigate Google;
  1. State legislatures should resolve any question of whether Google is a common carrier, which it is; and they can follow the lead of Texas and Florida to ensure that Big Tech cannot engage in viewpoint discrimination;
  1. Americans should stop using Google products, particularly Google Search, and instead opt for one of the many alternatives.”

Critical Questions Need To Be Asked

You can lobby your local, state, and federally elected officials to pursue the freedom of our elections today. “Any voting system connected to the internet via a modem or network device should not be used to administer elections. We know that they are. ES&S openly admitted that their systems were,” Gleason added. This is a major concern and questions need to be asked to determine just how far these issues really go. (LEARN MORE: The AP Finds 63% Doubt Biden’s Mental Capacity)

Did you know that you, your family, and friends can send letters directly to your elected officials today? We can tell your leaders what you want from their time in office, and what you expect from our federal government. Letter-writing campaigns, or even just a single letter, can be enough to sway policy and prompt investigations.
