Issues With Long-Awaited Senate ‘Border’ Bill Go Viral

A 370-page “border” bill was released to the public on Sunday night, and it has since gone viral for just how poorly it deals with the crisis.

The “Emergency National Security Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2024” was released Sunday after being developed behind closed doors by a handful of lawmakers and their unelected business donors, Breitbart reported. Authors include Democratic Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, Republican Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, along with just three senators — only one of whom comes from a border state (Independent Sen. Kyrsten Sinema).

Major Issues With The Bill

Congress only allows roughly one million illegal immigrants and one million legal immigrants to enter the country per year. These numbers are wrong because more than 10 million people are believed to have crossed illegally into the country since the start of the Biden administration’s term. The bill does very little to curb the actual flow of illegal immigrants.

The process of becoming a legal immigrant once landing in the country illegally is also up for some debate. Some 50,000 extra Green Cards will be issued per year and should be dedicated to Fortune 500 companies who want to retain expert workers and foreign graduates of American schools.
