Biden’s Border Move Criticized By Voters

Jun 13, 2024

President Joe Biden’s recent pre-election move to allegedly secure America’s borders “isn’t a slam dunk with voters,” Politico wrote in June.

In a sudden executive order announced in June, Biden suddenly decided to start managing the border crisis that has plagued the U.S. since his first week in the Oval Office. In a statement shared by the White House, officials attempted to argue that Biden has tried to secure our southern border since his first day in office.

Despite bringing multiple pieces of legislation through the processes of government, Biden failed to act upon any calls to action by both voters and lawmakers. However, Biden’s team claims that “Congress has failed to act” and therefore “the President has acted to secure our border.” (LEARN MORE: Feds Reportedly Release Terrorist ‘Accidentally’)

Biden Suddenly Flips On Illegal Immigrants

“President Biden believes we must secure our border. That is why today, he announced executive actions to bar migrants who cross our Southern border unlawfully from receiving asylum. These actions will be in effect when high levels of encounters at the Southern Border exceed our ability to deliver timely consequences, as is the case today. They will make it easier for immigration officers to remove those without a lawful basis to remain and reduce the burden on our Border Patrol agents,” the order states.

But just 40% of registered voters approve of Biden’s actions, with 27% being opposed, and 33% having no opinion, according to a Monmouth University poll. “The findings come as Biden seeks to boost voters’ perception of his handling of the border just months before the November election. The president is aiming to unify a Democratic base split on immigration, appeal to independents seeking a tougher hand, and take action to lessen Republicans’ campaign advantage on the issue,” Politico wrote in their analysis.
