President Joe Biden has the lowest job approval rating of any president in the last 15 years, an ABC News/Ipsos poll found Sunday.
Biden’s score is the lowest seen by pollsters since former President George W. Bush’s pre-global financial crisis, post-Middle East invasion in 2006 to 2008. His current approval score is just 33%, while his disapproval score is 58%.
The poll also found that younger Black voters are turning away from Biden. He’s ranked 21 points lower than expected within this demographic while coming in 15 points below for Hispanic, and 6 points down for White voters. (LEARN MORE: Obama-Appointed Judge Hands Win To GOP)
Attention On Trump
The poll found 72% of Republicans support former President Donald Trump as the nominee for president in 2024. Some 47% of those who responded to the poll said they support Trump’s mental fitness, whereas only 28% thought Biden was mentally stable enough to run the country.
A further 57% of respondents felt Trump was more physically fit for the job. Again, only 28% felt the same way about Biden. (LEARN MORE: Trump Promises ‘Biggest Single Political Event In History’)
The biggest issue for Biden is the economy. And when it comes to the last three years of soaring cost of living prices, Biden doesn’t really have a leg to stand on with his voters. More than half of the respondents to the poll felt Biden’s handling of the economy was poor. (LEARN MORE: ‘Bidenomics’ Is Hurting Voters Despite Attempts To Spin)
Biden is currently being sued over alleged conservative censorship. Attorney General of Texas, Ken Paxton, along with a handful of organizations and media outlets, showed how the State Department-funded the Global Disinformation Index, which is supposed to be a third-party organization without any political sway.
