Violence against Christians has risen significantly between 2018 and 2023, according to data
publicized in February, with 436 attacks occurring in 2023, more than double that of 2022.

These acts of violence include gun-related incidents, bomb threats, vandalism, and others, with many Churches not getting the support and recognition they need to navigate this crime spree. “I documented 18 separate incidences of either vandalism, theft, or hostilities in the year 2023 alone,” Pastor Rob Rotola of Word of Life Church in Wichita, Kansas, told “Washington Watch” on Monday. “And that is, honestly, with ignoring some of the smaller things that didn’t even make the list.”

Many of the police officers within the Wichita area have been replaced by social workers, which prompted the church to self-manage most of the incidents. “When you call now … the response time is markedly slower,” Rotola noted. Why Is There Such A Rise In Hostility?

Rotola argued that a “general lack of respect for churches” is part of the problem, ushered on by the media’s depiction of religious centers in a negative light. “[I]f we don’t take a stand now and speak out and hold our ground, spirit, soul, and body” to “provide our own security … eventually we will be a voiceless society.” But we cannot “consider going voiceless and … hiding,” he emphasized. This would just make the problem worse. (LEARN MORE: Female Mass Shooters & The Rise In Transgenderism)
