Trump’s ‘Cabinet Of The Canceled’ Championed In Op-Ed

An op-ed written by author Abigale Shrier in winter 2025 championed the incoming Trump administration’s “Cabinet of the Canceled,” who have the potential to fundamentally revolutionize American politics and culture in the coming years.
And it might not be as complicated as many entrenched lawmakers would have us believe. (RELATED ARTICLE: Trump’s Appointees So Far … Who Are They?)
Shrier, a powerful advocate in the protection of children from medical tyranny, quoted venture capitalist Marc Andreessen in her opening paragraph, who said, “I hope this last ten years increasingly is just going to feel like a bad dream … I can’t believe we tolerated the level of repression . . . and anger and . . . emotional incontinence and . . . cancellation campaigns.” Andreessen made the comments in a recent interview with podcaster Joe Rogan (who is now a more powerful voice for the American public than all mainstream legacy media combined). This quote likely reflects Shrier’s own perspective of the rapid social decline we were almost normalized to across many American towns, cities, universities, and more.
Those who spoke out against the various avenues of our decline — whether it be against the involvement of men in women’s sports, the homeless crisis, the economy, overreach by federal agencies, (the list could go on) — appear to be those targeted most heavily by the Biden administration, Shrier argues.
Shrier’s Argument
“Tulsi Gabbard, Trump’s pick to lead the intelligence community, was briefly placed on a government watch list, she says, for criticizing Kamala Harris. The Biden White House and surgeon general pressured social-media companies to censor Stanford epidemiologist Jay Bhattacharya’s attempts to warn the public that the Covid lockdowns were the biggest policy error in American history; Trump named Bhattacharya to head the National Institutes of Health,” Shrier wrote in her analysis (which we highly recommend you read in full). “And Elon Musk, appointed to lead the newly created Department of Government Efficiency, knowingly overpaid for Twitter to give Americans a sphere for free speech. At takeover, Musk immediately released the Twitter Files, revealing a coordinated effort by the Biden administration to censor the speech of Americans whose views it disfavored. The Biden administration repaid Musk by targeting his businesses with unprecedented levels of regulatory harassment.”
Don’t Tread On Us
Shrier says the most wonderful thing about Americans is that “we despite being bullied by our government.” And after years of censorship and criticism by social media, civic leaders, and foreign billionaires, the American people have chosen the canceled over the cancelers.

Though some are young, some have never worked in government, and some may say strange things, Shrier knows one thing for sure about the incoming administration: “we’ll know about it. The media will make sure of that.” (MORE ON THIS: ANALYSIS: As Meta De-Censors Users, Will Big Tech Follow?)
Shrier’s hope is that Trump’s leadership will “be enough to shake Americans out of our recent complacency over the trampling of our rights and the unfairness that so many of us have been urged to embrace.” Like us, Shrier believes that our most significant problems don’t require a life of government work to solve, they just need people willing to solve them.
