Election Integrity Report Finds Issues In Nevada

The Nevada Secretary of State’s Office released their election integrity report in late July, which found 44 cases of double voting that required investigation.

The report highlights the 145 double vote investigations undertaken by the office since the 2022 General Election. Of those cases, 29 did not require any action, the office found. And 15 were closed with a civil notice being issued.

Some 44 cases were referred for criminal investigations. Three others were referred for criminal prosecution, and a further 29 were initially considered criminal but were closed by the office. “One example of civil notices being issued over double voting included that of a father and a son with the same name who live in the same house who both received a ballot,” wrote KOLO. “The Secretary of State’s Office says the father accidentally filled out his son’s ballot and mailed it to the County Clerk or Registrar’s Office. The double vote was noticed, and the second vote was not counted. The office launched an investigation and issued a civil notice letter saying that voting twice is illegal. However, since no intent was found, no criminal charges were filed.”
